I have a story to tell. It’s a true story. It’s my story, and what led me here, to be able to start my own dream business. Four years ago, my sister and I set out to find our birth mom. We found her, we wrote her a letter to tell her thank you for our lives. Both of us mothers ourselves, we realized how hard this must’ve been on her, to give us up. We didn’t hear back. Two and a half years later, she finally reached back out to us, via social media. She told us she loved us, was proud of us, she saw pictures of our lives & families. Three months after that connection, she died unexpectedly, December 17, 2019. My heart shattered, I literally felt broken. All the grief of 40 years came crashing in, the original loss finally surfaced along with fresh new grief.

A few months later, we learned that she left us everything, her two properties & her massive library of nature photos she had taken. She also left us peace, knowing that we were so loved.

So, Specs by Kyla is a story of my healing, of hope and courage and opportunity. Patty, my birth mom, made it possible, as well as the love and support of her family & my adopted parents. I feel so loved. This business will have my heart and soul in it. A new vision, a new frame of mind.
