Specs by Kyla Embodies Kyla’s heart, joy, AND devotion. A lifelong dream realized. A frame of mind reinvented. A small family business that looks forward to growing with Atascadero.

Kyla fell in love with optical right out of high school, when she worked in a small optometric office. The doctor trained her thoroughly in all things optics. She became certified through the American Board of Opticians (ABOC) in 1999. Since then, she has worked with many eye care professionals and helped a doctor open a brand new practice in Asheville, N.C. For the past 10 years, she has worked with luxury frame lines here on the central coast.

Kyla adores plants, nature and her family. You will find evidence of these elements in her business.

Kyla's husband and partner in life, Jeff joins Specs to wrangle the invoices and accounting so Kyla can focus on helping you when you walk in the door. He excels at patience and details, quality is his middle name. Inspecting your lenses when they arrive from the lab and making sure all is perfect.

Jeff built out the shop space and custom-made the shop shelving system that everyone asks about. Talented guy.

JoAnna comes with 10 years of optical experience, Kyla & JoAnna met over a mutual love of MCM furniture and the rest was history.

Kyla is by far the best optician I've ever worked with. I'm extremely picky about my glasses — both how they look and how they function — and Kyla always made sure they are absolutely perfect every time. It’s a bonus that she’s also a delightful person. I really appreciate how she makes shopping for glasses such an enjoyable experience.

My dealings with Kyla have been pleasurable indeed. She is a true professional; polite, courteous and knowledgeable in her field. She is confident, attentive and well spoken when providing information and customer service, while at the same time keeping the atmosphere light and friendly. She is an asset to the community.
