Kyla fell in love with optical right out of high school, when she worked in a small optometric office. The doctor trained her thoroughly in all things optics. She became certified through the American Board of Opticians (ABOC) in 1999. Since then, she has worked with many eye care professionals and helped a doctor open a brand new practice in Asheville, N.C. For the past 10 years, she has worked with luxury frame lines here on the central coast.

Kyla adores plants, nature and her family. You will find evidence of these elements in her business. Kyla is honored to be known in the community of Atascadero as the owner of Specs for over 5 years now, serving up connection, smiles and eyewear that will get noticed.

OPTICIAN | FELLOW TALL GIRL TO KYLA

Savannah brings 10 years of optical experience to Specs. After working in the corporate world, Savannah is happy to work at Specs part-time and is a full time beautiful mama to her son.

 Thrifting and riding around downtown on her bike with her sidekick are things she enjoys in her time away from the shop.

Savannah has an eye for style and is also an expert in checking in our completed eyewear orders to make sure they are made PERFECTLY for you.

Kyla and Andrea worked together for 10 years in San Luis Obispo and are excited to be reunited again.

Andrea has over 20 years experience in the optical world, she has amazing style and is excellent in helping you find the perfect frame to fit your face as well as express your personality. We are grateful to have her help in keeping things organized here at Specs and the shelves beautifully arranged.

While not at work, Andrea also loves thrifting, having lunch out with her 2 girls, and listening to podcasts.

TECHNICIAN | BACK OFFICE GURU

Kyla's husband and partner in life, Jeff joins Specs to wrangle the invoices and accounting so Kyla can focus on helping you when you walk in the door. He excels at patience and details, quality is his middle name. Inspecting your lenses when they arrive from the lab and making sure all is perfect.

Jeff built out the shop space and custom-made the shop shelving system that everyone asks about. Talented guy.

Kyla is an incredible matchmaker of frames to faces. Her talent is basically mythical. She’s like Olivander in Harry Potter- the frames choose the face and she uses her expertise and intuition to make that experience absolutely magical.
